3yo Gelding Flirt With Me made it a winning debut when he accounted for nine rivals on his home track at Mornington on Peninsula Cup day. After an impressively trial win back in early October the son of Blevic was given time to prepare for his first assignment and the patience was duly rewarded when he fought hard to win by 3/4's of length.

Top senior jockey Mark Zhara gave Flirt WIth Me a beautifully ride from barrier two and he stalked the early leaders sitting third on the fence throughout running. The field started to open up as the pressure went on from the 400m and Mark guided the striking Bay gelding through a gap that opened up at the right time turning for home. Flirt With Me then showed his quality fighting off the challengers and beaten a handy field of 3yo's.

It looks like the first of many wins for this promising type and be sure to keep an eye out when he steps up in class next time out.

The spring preparation of classy mare Dance With Her was unfortunately cut short after pulling up sore post her run in the Herbert Power on Caulfield Guineas Day. On what was a firm track the daughter of Al Maher was attempting top force her way in to this year sMelbourne Cup with a win in the Herbert Power, however she was unable to show her customary fight and finished 9 lengths off the winner in tenth place.

After a seven day battle to bring her back to 100% David Brideoake and co-trainer David Feek made the agonising decision to pull the pin on the Melbourne Cup dream and send the 6yo to the paddock for a well earned rest. She is now soaking up the recent warm weather and is resting on a luscious 4 acres quality spring pasture at Wellington PArk, the home of Brideoake Racing.

A date with the breeding barn will be put on hold until at least 2013 with Dance With Her set to return for another autumn and spring campaign. After such a successful trip to Brisbane this winter Brideoake an Feek are already mapping out another assault on the Group 2 Brisbane Cup in 2013!
